With our entire associates working from home due to the coronavirus pandemic, we are using cloud-based infrastructure and collaborative platforms to improve productivity and ensure business continuity.
Over a short span of just three months, the COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way we live our lives. Social distancing has become the norm and with people cancelling meetings and travel plans due to the rapid spread of the coronavirus, international airports, restaurants and hotels across the world have become increasingly empty. In India, the government announced a nationwide lockdown on 24th March for three weeks to slow down the spread of infections.
As the world comes together to fight this unprecedented crisis, we are doing our bit to fight COVID-19.
At Gemini, our foremost priority has been to safeguard the well-being of our employees. Early on, we decided to play a constructive role in minimizing the impact and ensuring business continuity. With that in mind, we implemented a standard operating procedure in our offices in early March.
As part of this, we encouraged our employees to diligently follow the prevention recommendations from health authorities, such as proper hand washing. We cancelled meetings and imposed travel restrictions. We also advised all our employees to avoid handshakes and physical contacts with each other.
We know these are challenging times. However, we want to assure our clients and partners that we are open for business. At Gemini, we have launched a slew of measures to ensure that we continue to offer technology support to our clients without any disruption. We have changed the working arrangement for our associates. All our staff are currently working from home. We have provided them with laptops. As a leading technology provider, we have been at the forefront of offering location independent work solutions. Our cloud-based infrastructure, robust security network and collaboration platforms stand us in good stead to tide over this crisis.
At this juncture, we would like to express our gratitude to all our customers, partners, industry colleagues and employees for their continued support and cooperation. We are constantly engaged with them to extend any kind of assistance they need to rise to the occasion.
We are also in touch with various government authorities and community organizations to offer our helping hand in protecting the health and safety of the public.
Finally, we are applying our expertise in technology, big data analytics and artificial intelligence to find potential solutions to this unprecedented challenge. We are sure, together, as a global community, we will be able to find a way through this.
